Fall Intracoastal Cleanup

The Club held their Fall Intracoastal cleanup in October. Over a dozen members gathered on a beautiful,  Saturday to help.

With our recent storms, there was quite a bit of trash on our islands and once again we filled a dumpster.

THANK YOU  to everyone that showed up to help.

May Afternoon at Salt Rock Grill

35 members, enjoyed an afternoon of food, drinks and fun at Salt Rock Grill. Although the skies were threatening all afternoon, not a drop of rain fell on the group.

The restaurant opened early for us and we took over the whole outside deck. Most members decided to forgo the boats this year and opted to come by car.

April Fish Fry

More than 70 people gathered under the Oaks at Keegan Clair Park to enjoy our largest ever Saturday afternoon Fish Fry. The weather and the company was perfect! A BIG thank you to Crabby Bill’s, who once again provided a great, freshly cooked fish dinner!

March Caladesi Picnic

Over 30 members, traveling on more than a dozen boats, gathered for a sunny Saturday on Caladesi Island. The group spent a relaxing afternoon enjoying everything the island has to offer, before having a picnic with more food than we could eat. While three boats arrived Friday to spend the night and enjoy a campfire, most boats just came in for the day.

March Meeting

At the March meeting, our guest speaker was Brady Smith, who is the Principal Planner with the Tampa Bay Regional Planning Council and an expert on Hazard Mitigation, Hurricane Planning & Preparedness and Flood Plain Management. He discussed the issue of Rising Tides. Are they really rising, if so how quickly and will it impact our area.

March Intracoastal Cleanup

Over a dozen members gathered on a beautiful, sunny Saturday to clean our Intracoastal Waterway. In the process, the island our members clean regularly, got a new sign!

Great job to all that helped, and a big THANK YOU!

January Meeting

For our first meeting of the New Year our guest speaker, was our local Natural Resources Agent, Lara Milligan with UF/IFAS Extension. She spoke before a packed house about the basics of microplastics including what they are and where the come from, actions we can take as individuals to help with this issue. This is a relatively new water quality concern and she highlighted the relevant research findings.

January Afternoon At The Pub

About 25 people gathered at The Pub in Indian Shores for food and drinks on a wonderfully sunny Florida afternoon. The Coast Guard Auxiliary was also available for free safety inspections.
